how do you say . . . ?

wooohooo!  i finished my intensiv-o italiano clase today!  and it was . . . intense.  the class was 3 hours long, 5 days a week for a month.  not to mention that i had to spend hours on homework every night.  the teacher only spoke in italian, which as you may recall i took this class to learn italian.  it was pretty much a sink or swim situation, and the reality is that some people are just more linguistically inclined.  i am humbled to say (in english) that i am not one of those people.

so there were 8 of us in the class, and we all came from different backgrounds and spoke different languages (which i found really interesting).  one of my new besties is a girl named barbora.  she's from slovakia and speaks english really well (which definitely helped to seal our friendship.  she credits american tv and movies as her english teacher).  when asked why she was learning italian, her response was that it was for love.  (her boyf's fam speaks italian).

speaking of languages, you know i'm in the italian part of switzerland, right?  so last night i was driving home and trying to talk to myself in italian, when i changed the radio station and a german dj came on and then proceeded to play a french song followed by a spanish song.  classic switzerland.

Once you master Italian, Spanish will be super easy. And once you learn a new language it gets easier and easier to learn others... so good luck on also learning French, German, Spanish, and... Japanese too while you're at it!! Lol!! :P
